Two HD Construction Equipment Employees Honored as ‘2026 Excellent Skilled Technicians’

- Production Team Leaders Ahn Jung-hoon (Mechanical Assembly) and Park Ki-hyeop (Mechanical Maintenance) receive prestigious national titles 
- Both leaders build extensive technical expertise by solving on-site challenges, driving market competitiveness and nurturing future skilled technicians.

HD Construction Equipment announced that Production Team Leaders Ahn Jung-hoon (Incheon Engine Development & Testing Team) and Park Ki-hyeop (Mobile Support Team) were honored as "Excellent Skilled Technicians" during the "2026 Skilled Technicians’ Day" ceremony held on September 9. Their selection in the Mechanical Assembly and Mechanical Maintenance categories, respectively, strongly underscores the company’s outstanding technical caliber on the front lines of manufacturing.

The "Excellent Skilled Technicians" title is a prestigious national recognition program jointly operated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. It identifies and awards industry professionals who have made significant contributions to technological development, operational improvement, and knowledge transfer using highly specialized skills accumulated on-site over many years.

Ahn Jung-hoon, who joined the company in 2010, built his extensive expertise directly on the engine development and production floor, managing everything from initial new-model prototypes to mass-production assembly. He has consistently championed worker safety and operational efficiency by designing a dedicated assembly jig for small diesel engine camshafts and refining and downsizing specialized manual tools used for repetitive tasks.

Furthermore, Ahn was highly recognized for systematically transforming his personal experience into organizational technical assets. His key achievements include ▲standardizing assembly and inspection protocols for engine fuel injection pumps, ▲producing and distributing a 15-part video series on core component assembly, and ▲developing instructional content explaining primary engine structures and systems.

“Our company has a well-structured system that supports the career growth of frontline technicians, and my ongoing efforts to leverage these opportunities led to this honorable milestone,” said Team Leader Ahn Jung-hoon. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Korea Master Hong Ki-hwan for his guidance throughout the preparation process, and to my colleagues on the Incheon Engine Development & Testing Team for their enthusiastic support and encouragement.”

Park Ki-hyeop, who joined in 2011, has contributed to upgrading the safety, environmental compliance, and durability of heavy machinery by participating in evaluations of new construction equipment models and their serviceability. To keep pace with tightening environmental regulations and rapid technological shifts, Park researched optimization methods for exhaust gas aftertreatment and hydraulic systems, while also engineering an electrical and electronic fault diagnosis simulator to enhance field maintenance capabilities.

Park has expanded his field expertise into research and education, publishing three technical papers on subjects including ▲hydraulic fluid particulate detection, ▲zero-emission zone-compliant electric wheeled excavators, and ▲IoT sensor utilization in construction equipment. He also authored the textbook PASS Construction Equipment Maintenance Master Craftsman (Written Exam), contributing to the education of future technicians.

“I have pushed myself for a long time, constantly learning and growing to become a better technician in my field,” stated Team Leader Park Ki-hyeop. “I am thrilled that this journey has borne meaningful fruit, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Korea Master Kim Ju-ho and the many seniors and colleagues who supported me along the way.”
