On May 21, HD Construction Equipment hosted an inauguration ceremony at the Global Business Center (GBC) on its Incheon Campus to officially launch HD NEXT, a strategic council dedicated to empowering the next generation of leadership within its supplier network.
The ceremony was attended by key executives, including Jung Chang-hwa, Executive Vice President of Procurement, and Lee Dong-hwa, Vice President of Construction Equipment Procurement. They were joined by Choi Won-jai, CEO of Seoyon TopMetal and Vice Chairman of the HD Construction Equipment Partner Company Council, along with 25 next-generation supplier executives.
HD NEXT was established to proactively address the evolving dynamics of the industrial landscape through intergenerational cooperation and the continuity of the business legacy. By promoting innovation and enhancing connectivity among suppliers, the council aims to generate new business value within the construction equipment industry. The acronym “NEXT” stands for Next Generation, Executive, Excavator (representing construction equipment), and Together (indicating mutual growth).
The event started with guided tours of the construction equipment and engine production lines at the Incheon Campus. This was followed by an official ceremony where the council’s leadership team was elected and formally appointed. The event concluded with a networking dinner. For the leadership team of HD NEXT, Lim Jin-young, CEO of Kunyoung Tech, was elected as Chairman; Chung Yeon-ju, CEO of Mijoo Industrial Electronics, was appointed as Auditor; and Jang Min-seok, Director of SE-AN Precision Machinery, assumed the role of Secretary.
"As the Korean manufacturing landscape faces increasing challenges, it is more crucial than ever for suppliers to work closely together to ensure future competitiveness," said Jung Chang-hwa, Executive Vice President at HD Construction Equipment. "We anticipate that HD NEXT will enhance communication, tackle common challenges, and ultimately pave the way for a sustainable supply chain throughout the entire construction equipment industry."
Lim Jin-young, the newly elected Chairman of HD NEXT and CEO of Kunyoung Tech, expressed, "I accept this role with a profound sense of responsibility and will actively listen to the perspectives of our next-generation leaders." He further stated, "I am fully committed to ensuring that this council evolves into a meaningful platform that promotes advancement within both the construction equipment sector and the broader Korean manufacturing industry."
