HD Construction Equipment Steps Up to Restore Flood-Damaged Areas in Indonesia

- Hyundai and DEVELON local dealers deploy excavators to assist in flood-affected areas.

HD Construction Equipment has dispatched Hyundai and DEVELON equipment, in partnership with local dealers, to the Aceh region of Sumatra, Indonesia, which suffered from severe flooding late last year.

In the Aceh region of Indonesia, tropical storms and heavy rainfall during the monsoon season persisted late last year. Roads and power lines were destroyed, and homes were buried under thick layers of silt, displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

A total of four excavators were deployed to the affected areas: three 21-ton excavators from United Equipment Indonesia, the Hyundai brand dealer, and one 22-ton excavator from Infra Traktor Indonesia, the DEVELON brand dealer.

These machines are currently being used in the flood-affected regions of Central and South Tapanuli in North Sumatra Province to assist with evacuation efforts, road construction, and debris clearance.

This support is significant because it comes from the voluntary efforts of local dealers. It aligns perfectly with HD Construction Equipment's mission to create a better future for humanity and society through construction equipment. Furthermore, it highlights the transformative impact that construction machinery can have on communities in need.

HD Construction Equipment has consistently demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by actively supporting disaster recovery efforts worldwide. In 2022, the company sent three excavators to Samburg, Tennessee, to aid in recovery efforts after the area was devastated by tornadoes. In 2023, it donated ten excavators to Türkiye following a major earthquake and also immediately deployed four units to Zhuozhou, Hebei Province, China, to assist with rapid recovery efforts after record-breaking heavy rains and flooding.
