HD Construction Equipment Demonstrates HYUNDAI’s Next-Gen Safety Tech to Samsung C&T

On February 4, HD Construction Equipment invited officials from Samsung C&T's construction division to its Technology Innovation Center in Yongin to demonstrate and explain the cutting-edge safety technologies featured in HYUNDAI’s next-generation excavators.
Samsung C&T possesses world-class construction capabilities, having completed the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa (828m) in Dubai, and the world’s second-tallest building, the Merdeka 118 (679m) in Malaysia.
The event was organized to promote safety and prevent equipment-related accidents at construction sites. A total of 12 representatives from nine departments of Samsung C&T attended, including Ahn Hong-rak, the Group Leader of the Safety & Health Office, as well as officials from the Building & Civil Infrastructure Business Units and the High-Tech Business Unit.
From HD Hyundai’s construction equipment division, Chung Oh-chul, Vice President of Korean Sales at HD Construction Equipment, and Kim Dong-mok, Vice President of Smart CE at HD Hyundai XiteSolution, participated alongside R&D and sales leaders. They delivered a comprehensive presentation on the core principles, performance, and operational reliability of their proprietary smart safety technologies.
Samsung C&T officials showed particular interest in the E-STOP safety option, which uses smart sensors to detect individuals approaching active equipment and automatically stop the machinery to prevent accidents preemptively.
“Preventing equipment accidents at construction sites is the most critical task for construction companies,” said Ahn Hong-rak, Group Leader at Samsung C&T. “We look forward to continued cooperation with HD Construction Equipment to enhance safety.”

Our goal is to leverage these innovations to set a new global standard for safety across the entire construction industry.”
Moving forward, HD Construction Equipment and Samsung C&T plan to deploy next-generation excavators equipped with smart safety features on domestic and international construction sites and to maintain close cooperation to prevent onsite accidents.
