▶ “Supplying engines to four major Turkish generator engine manufacturers, which will help expand export regions”
Hyundai Doosan Infracore signed a contract with two Turkish power generator manufacturers to supply more than 2,400 engines for three years.
Hyundai Genuine (the holding company of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group’s construction equipment unit) subsidiary Hyundai Doosan Infracore announced that it participated in the 2022 MEE (Middle East Electricity Exhibition) held in Dubai for three days from March 7 to 9 and signed an engine supply contract with KJ Power and Alimar. First held in 1975, MEE is the world’s largest electrical energy exhibition held in Dubai annually.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore plans to supply mid- to large-sized mechanical and electronic engines for three years beginning this year, and the two companies plan to install the engines in generators exported to Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
The supply contract includes DX22, a 22-liter large electronic engine recently developed and released by Hyundai Doosan Infracore. DX22 is a high-performance, eco-friendly product that has received favorable reviews from customers for having 20% higher output as well as the highest fuel efficiency compared to mechanical models in the same class and extending the replacement cycle with more durable parts.
The new contract increases the number of engine customers of Hyundai Doosan Infracore to four major generator manufacturers in Turkey, including the existing AKSA and TEKSAN. In particular, as Turkey is geographically close to Europe and the Middle East, and the generators produced by the Turkish manufacturers are exported to Europe, Middle East, and Africa, it will be an opportunity to enhance the brand image and expand the export regions.
“This contract will be an opportunity for us to showcase the excellence of our engines to markets in Europe and Middle East. We will do our best to drive sales growth by expanding the export region through the diversification of engine lineup and reinforcement of electronic engine products,” said Lim Hyung-taek, Managing Director of Engine Sales at Hyundai Doosan Infracore.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore's engine business division recorded sales of 854.8 billion won last year, up 20.1% from the same period of the previous year, thanks to increased engine sales driven by the boom in the construction equipment business and increased demand for generators. Sales are also expected to grow 13% based on global economic recovery, rising oil prices, and diversification in export regions. <End>
